Newfield Network's

Summer Summit 2021

The challenges of the last year have tested and revealed us. As we navigated quarantine and social isolation, disease and death, politics and social unrest, we’ve been confronted with a sharper view of our systemic and historic divisions. And all of this stands as a stark and stimulating invitation to actively create what’s next, to invest ourselves in intentionally applying what we have learned to what we want to create.

As we re-emerge, it becomes more and more apparent that we must derive the essential learnings of these tumultuous times, define our insights and benefit from our new wisdom. There is no option to simply survive. The challenges are simply too immense. In order to survive, we must seek something greater. We must thrive. We have a responsibility to re-imagine and cultivate new realities of what can be.

For this year’s summit, we have assembled 13 thought leaders, coaches and luminaries to address resilience, re-imagining, and re-creating. Join us as we explore and deepen our understanding of humanity’s capacity to reinvent, redesign, and restructure. Orient yourself in this pivotal moment between what has been and what can be—and prepare to answer the call to create the world of what’s possible.

Join us August 13th, 16th - 20th, and 23rd for two webinars per day at 12 pm ET and 6:30 pm ET, except on the last day, there will only be one webinar in the evening.

(NOTE: CCEU's are NOT available for this event.)

This will be an opportunity for us to come together as a community of change agents and become collectively inspired, renewed, and transformed.

Coaching and the Dance with Culture

It is time to expand our understanding of resilience. It is not enough to simply recover from difficulties. We need to move beyond our original starting point by utilizing the wisdom we have gained from navigating disruptions.

We must dare to confront the assumptions that have brought us to this point in history and aim to consciously enhance our present level of consciousness.

That is why resilience must include reimagining. In order for humanity to attain new vistas and horizons, we must move beyond the dominant understanding that suggests that knowing consists of simply having answers, and into a deeper knowing which elicits unasked questions, novel inquiry, and innovative investigation.

In this session, you will learn how to:

  • Foster awareness of the cultural messages that live as an inner collective and feed identity and belonging
  • Discover how this is manifested as multiple unconscious assumptions that create a prison for thinking
  • Break the cultural, ontological assumptions that isolate us
  • Understand the value of coaching as a conscious step towards a change in consciousness

You will learn distinctions and tools to cultivate resilience and how to lean into the creative impulse for the sake of catalyzing emergence.

  • Do you want to learn how to contact the source of perpetual creativity?

Organizational Transformation from the Inside Out

Now is the time to reimagine what’s possible with social enterprise (regardless of its tax status – non-profit/for-profit)! Possibilities with any organization lie within its leader and their ability to unlock possibilities within their teams. Any organization transformation has to move from the inside out.

As a management consultant and accountant, Dorri McWhorter’s move into the non-profit sector after over 20 years in corporate America enabled the transformation of the YWCA Metropolitan Chicago from a 145-year-old social service agency to a 21st-century social enterprise. The transformation leads to significant growth of impact and revenue.

In this session, you will explore transforming organizations from the inside out by:

  • Re-imagining organizational transformation principles
  • Understanding new models for social enterprise
  • Redefining the word “work”
  • Catalyzing people to unleash their purpose and potential

How We Create the Future

In this conversation, Bob provides a perspective on how human beings live in and create the future, both individually and together. Due to the pervasive cultural blindness about creating the future, most people live as though it is beyond their reach and build safety into their worlds with contraction into what they can control or narratives of justified resignation.

Yet a fundamental capability of our being human is our capacity for choice. When we discover and connect to our capacity for choice and that it is always available, no matter what the situation, then we open up our capacity for empowerment and creating the future.

Resilience is finding our connection to choice, and reimaging is learning to use our power of choice to create a future and the actions to fulfill it that matter to you. We have the choice of no choice, or to go beyond our edges and discover how to create a meaningful future in the face of a world in breakdown.

In this session, you will explore:

  • What the future really is and how we create it, whether we are aware of it or not
  • Discovering our power of choice in any situation
  • The role of our mood and body reactions and the skills choosing them
  • Connecting to what matters to you now and into the future, what you care about
  • Building a context supporting your power of choice and creation
  • Committing to action and to the journey of cultivating skillful action in the face of your challenges

Pursuing Resilience & Reimagining Life's Possibilities through Integral Polarity Practice

In his presentation, John will demonstrate how one can use IPP to pursue resilience and reimagining life possibilities.

Integral polarity practice (IPP) is a powerful meditation and life practice that weaves together some of the most potent elements from the Wisdom traditions of the world, both ancient and modern, both East and West.

A uniquely comprehensive system, IPP helps cultivate critical aspects of human growth and flourishing such as mindful awareness, positive adult development, psychological healing and relational well-being through the creative play of opposites. Working consciously with opposites, or polarities, one immediately begins to taste the embodied sense of greater wholeness and freedom in life.

In this session, you will explore:

  • An overview of IPP
  • Optimizing resilience through IPP
  • Optimizing abundance and possibility through IPP
  • Optimizing creativity through IPP
  • Tying it all together: Pursuing resilience and reimagining life’s possibility through IPP

Insights for Living in Our Moment of History

For each of us to navigate our own way in life during the dramatic age of human history and Earth evolution we now find ourselves in requires sources of insight that go beyond simple strategies for just getting ahead or coping with life. We need glimpses of a larger context and frame of reference to help us access those deeper moral and spiritual sources through which we can re-imagine our lives and find new resilience.

In this session, you will:

  • Explore certain critical but often overlooked factors that shape our contemporary consciousness and influence our actions
  • Recognize that at a deep level the unfolding of a human life is a spiritual journey
  • Examine how we are also participating in a much larger collective spiritual journey, with our lives embedded in great historical and evolutionary developments
  • Explore the ways in which certain powerful archetypal forces and principles are at work at both the individual and collective level
  • Consider how the virtue of hope can play a role in the unfolding of life, and how hope can be cultivated as a seed that can bear fruit in the future we are all creating

(Please note that in the last few minutes, Julio Olalla will join Richard to discuss his presentation.)

Integrity is the Root of Our Divinity

As a writer, storyteller, speaker, and coach, Angela has dedicated her life to helping others discover their true selves. Yet the discovery is only the beginning. The real work begins when Angela dares to invite her clients to step into the “space between,” where they learn the power of experiencing experiences as they occur. A transformative remembrance of our undeniable intrinsic connection to nature and the world.

This infusion of self with nature reconnects us to our universal creativity, resilience, and renewal where we can reimagine what is. In this conversation with Angela, learn why integrity is the single most important quality we must possess to tap into our Divine Imagination. And how our Divine Imagination enables us to raise our collective intelligence in the design of a new and better future for our world.

In this session, you will:

  • Reflect on our relationship with Integrity
  • Reveal the role Divine Imagination has in sustaining human life
  • Reimagine ourselves and the world from the inside out
  • Reacquaint ourselves with our Self
  • Renew our commitment to living in and leading with Integrity

Perturbing the Known: Fueling Imaginative Freedom

Our habitual mindset determines our default way of orienting our life. To instigate a disruption, to consciously invite new possibilities to emerge, we must find a way to perturb that habitual mindset. By perturbing the known, we expand the horizon for a new vision of life to unfold.

What worlds of possibility lie in the realms of the yet to be imagined? By tapping into the liminal space between what we seem to know and what we could imagine, we can fuel our capacity to reflect, re-imagine, and re-invent. This is necessary to inspire innovation, nourish novelty, and renew ourselves and the world.

In our time together, we will explore some key concepts and fundamental principles from the world of the visual arts to see how these can inform, influence, and impact our daily lives. We will discover what is possible at the intersection of the visual arts and ontological design.

In this session, you will:

  • Explore methods to interrupt habitual orientation
  • Learn to ignite your imagination
  • Awaken new possibilities

Turning Pain into Purpose

TEDx and motivational storyteller, Anne Moss Rogers, has built a following on the tabooist of subjects--suicide, and the mental illness and addiction that often trigger it. Anne Moss' 20-year-old son, Charles, died by suicide on June 5, 2015, after struggling with anxiety, depression, and ultimately, a heroin addiction.

This is her family's story of trying to find help for her son's mental illness and substance misuse with few resources and little support. Her story is about Charles and the creative genius he was and how she manages to find hope and joy in her son's memory. This includes inspiring stories from those who have found her blog, Emotionally Naked, a website that has reached millions. Charles' death did not mark the end of her journey but the beginning of a new one that includes promoting her son’s legacy of letting others know they matter.

In this session, you will explore:

  • An unorthodox way of reaching out to others online that has surprising results
  • How we can recognize and intervene online when people have lost hope
  • How misconceptions others have about addiction, mental illness, and grief serve as roadblocks to recovery
  • How one person turned grief into action to find a path to healing
  • Coping strategies to help people manage adversity
